Pneumonia (caused by the influenza virus itself or secondary bacterial infection).

Complications in Other Systems
Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
Myocarditis (heart muscle inflammation).
Pericarditis (inflammation of the heart lining).
Encephalitis (brain inflammation).
Myositis (muscle inflammation).
Worsening of pre-existing conditions, such as:
Heart disease.
Diabetes.
Asthma.
Individuals older than 65 years.
Young children under 5 years old.
Pregnant women.
Individuals with obesity.
Those with chronic diseases, such as:
Diabetes.
Chronic lung disease.
Asthma.
Heart disease.
Chronic kidney disease.
Individuals with compromised immunity.
Those taking immunosuppressants or chemotherapy.
